Welcome to the SolSpeeder project. This project was started in 98, as a daily driver. It has progressed into a track car. This page was set up to track the performance of the car, and it's track times. This should help myself and others track what mods help the most.
The race is ON!
So I think I put my foot in my mouth today...While talking to Corey we got on the topic of how much it would cost to get a car to 10sec's in the 1/4 mile. He was talking HUGE numbers like 30-40K in mods. (not including the cost of the car) While I was on the other end saying it could be done with about 10K. So we took up a bet.
My car + 7K from where it is now in the 10's (anything less then 11sec). We counted up the mods to my car and said it was about 3K in performance parts. Much more in other mods...The rules we talked about for almost an hour...
The winner gets:
If Corey wins: $100 + 1x lap-dance at his fav. Strip bar
If I win: $100 and Corey is my track bitch for one year (I'm not into lap-dances...unless it's from my wife...)
The question is...what should I do to get to <11?
What should I do with the 7K? If you have any ideas of how I should get to 10sec please send me an e-mail:

Tucker's 1976 Jeep CJ7
Engine: A.M.C. 5.0L V-8 304ci Transmission: G.M. Turbo400 Transfer case: A.M.C. Quadra-Trac All time 4WD Front end: Dana 30 Rear end: A.M.C. 20 This Jeep has been dedicated to Search and Rescue. As of January 16, 2005 it has responded to three call-outs. One included tasks to transport personnel down fire trails on the Appalachian Trail. Currently its equipped with a VHF (High Band) Midland Titan radio, Avcomm intercom system with radio interface, and emergency lights. The drive line is mostly stock in order to keep the on-road safety. Plans for a mild spring lift are being reviewed, in order to fit 33"-35" tires. Equipped with a 22 gal. long rang tank, this jeep is designed to go 300 miles without refueling. It was only designed for a maximum one way trip of 500 miles, but is capable of much more, however passenger comfort would suffer. The rebuild of this project took about 4 years, and completed in 2004. The jeep was disassembled down to its frame and rebuilt with new or quality used parts. Currently the project has a total cost of just over $10K US. The jeep is a resource dedicated to Tri-State Search and Rescue, and is available to any call-outs of TSSAR.
